Born into a family of musicians and surrounded by globally acclaimed artists, Shiv’s musical roots run deep. His upbringing in a harmonious environment nurtured his love for Hindustani Classical Music from an early age. Under the tutelage of the late Pt Pranab Kumar Mukhopadhyay, a distinguished educator and disciple of the late Pt. J. N. Goswami and the “Queen of Ghazals” Begum Akhtar, Shiv honed his skills in Violin performance. Eminent gurus like Atul Debnath and Kalicharan Bardhan further solidified his foundation in Hindustani Classical music and the heritage of Bengali stalwarts like Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Islam.
While vocal and violin performances were his primary focus, Shiv’s musical exploration didn’t stop there. He broadened his musical horizons through piano performances, delving into Western Classical, and immersing himself in the rich tapestry of ethnic, folk, and jazz music.
