Shiv is an interdisciplinary artist, focusing on music and video production fusing Classical, Jazz, and Ethnic music, Performing Arts, such as Ballet, Indian Dance, and Japanese Butoh to create visually appealing and deeply meaningful story. He is also a portrait photographer focusing on creating avant-garde life portraits of prominent figures, artists, and musicians.
For me, crafting a portrait is akin to a meditative dance of passion and devotion.
It’s a canvas where I narrate your tale, paint your persona, sometimes with the flourish of artistic expressions, other times with the raw authenticity of journalism. I breathe life into portraits that stir emotions, provoke thoughts, and kindle the spark of creativity. The beauty I witness in the whispering trees, the laughter of people, the rhythm of the streets, or the grandeur of the stage, I encapsulate within the confines of my digital canvas.
In the realm of interdisciplinary art, I find myself in the company of artists from diverse disciplines. Together, we blend the melodies of music, the grace of dance, and the stillness of images to weave a tapestry of impactful moving imagery. This is my art, this is my passion.

BIO
Born into a family of musicians and surrounded by globally acclaimed artists, Shiv’s musical roots run deep. His upbringing in a harmonious environment nurtured his love for Hindustani Classical Music from an early age. Under the tutelage of the late Pt Pranab Kumar Mukhopadhyay, a distinguished educator and disciple of the late Pt. J. N. Goswami and the “Queen of Ghazals” Begum Akhtar, Shiv honed his skills in Violin performance. Eminent gurus like Atul Debnath and Kalicharan Bardhan further solidified his foundation in Hindustani Classical music and the heritage of Bengali stalwarts like Rabindranath Tagore and Nazrul Islam.
While vocal and violin performances were his primary focus, Shiv’s musical exploration didn’t stop there. He broadened his musical horizons through piano performances, delving into Western Classical, and immersing himself in the rich tapestry of ethnic, folk, and jazz music.
As an art enthusiast, Shiv also received training in painting under the guidance of Kamalesh Bhattacharya, which eventually helped him become a prolific art and portrait photographer.
Despite his artistic pursuits, Shiv chose Engineering as his primary career path and majored in computer science. Over nearly two decades, he held significant positions in multinational Fortune 500 companies, in the dynamic fields of technology and finance, including valuable consulting years at Ernst & Young and a significant tenure as the Director of Data Strategy and Engineering at Western Union.
Shiv has always harbored a keen interest in the art of filmmaking. The cinematic masterpieces of legends like Satyajit Ray, Akira Kurosawa, and Jean Renoir were his companions growing up, instilling in him an unwavering love for filmmaking and film music.
In 2022, around the end of the pandemic, he launched a bi-weekly music and art salon at his Upper West Side residence. With the generous help from his music-loving neighbors, he aimed to bring together artists from all over the world and audiences in a fun-filled, friendly space. The connections forged there are not just memories but bridges to future collaborations; stepping stones to expand his ever-growing universe of opportunities.
Today, Shiv stands at an intersection where the logical world of tech and finance intertwines with the emotive realm of art. With a heart brimming with passion and a mind enriched with experience, he is exploring the enchanting world of interdisciplinary art and scoring for film & TV.
